Editing Bid Line Items

Line Items in Jaket

In Jaket, understanding the intricacies of how Costs and Markup are handled is essential to creating an accurate bid. Correct application of these financial metrics is key to monitoring the financial health of each project in real time.

Line Item Data

  • Item Number - Serves as the unique identifier for the Line Item.

  • Label - Provides a description or name for the Line Item.

  • Quantity - Indicates how many units of the Line Item are required.

  • Unit - The unit type that will display on the bid.

  • Cost - Represents the direct cost to your organization. Use this figure in conjunction with Markup and Quantity to determine the total for the Line Item. Cost remains internal and is not visible to the client.

  • Markup - Reflects the additional charge over the cost to achieve the desired profit margin. It is applied in conjunction with Cost and Quantity to finalize the Line Item's total. Markup remains internal and is not visible to the client.

Bid Modifiers

These affect the overall Bid total and are used to account for additional costs or adjustments across the entire Bid.

  • Fringe & Tax Toggles - Toggles to include any fringe costs associated with the Line Item.

  • Discount Toggle - Toggle to include this Line Item in the Bid discount.

  • Markup Toggle - Toggle to include this Line Item in the Bid markup.

Line Modifiers

These are specific to each Line Item and influence only that particular Line Item's total.

  • Waived - his toggle indicates that a Line Item is to be included for reference but its cost is not to be factored into the Bid's total—essentially, the item is provided at no charge.

  • Flat Markup - Switch between a flat rate or a percentage-based markup for the Line Item's total. This affects how the markup is calculated.

  • Auto Actualize - When this is enabled, Jaket will automatically generate a Cost Allocation for the Line Item once the Bid has been awarded.
